Greeting
The 50th Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Low Temperature Medicine
“Bridging old and new”
The 50th Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Low Temperature Medicine will be held at Tonan Hospital in Sapporo City. It is a great honor for me to be in charge of organizing the meeting.
My first encounter with cryomedicine was more than 20 years ago, when I experienced the clinical research of a cryoablation device at Hokkaido University and was impressed by the very advanced treatment method. I was still a novice, and I remember with great pleasure that my paper on cryotherapy for uterine fibroids was accepted in a journal in Europe after struggle. Currently, only renal tumors can be treated by insurance in Japan, but I am proud that I am still involved in cryotherapy. In addition, we strongly hope that the indications for cryoablation will be expanded in the future in Japan.
The theme will be " Bridging old and new" and the program will be commemorating the 50th meeting. We hope that the meeting will be a bridge to the future by learning form the history of cryomedicine.
The conference will be held in Sapporo in early spring, when it will still be somewhat cold, but we hope you will enjoy Hokkaido's unique winter scenery, sightseeing, meal, etc. We sincerely look forward to meeting you in Sapporo.
